How to Make Money with UberEATS

Many of us have considered the idea of Becoming an Uber Driver, however, also many of us do not feel so comfortable allowing strangers to get into our car; am I right?

Well, I have good news, if you are one of those people who does not want to drive with strangers in the car but you like the idea of working as an Uber driver let me tell you that Uber has another option for you: “Delivery Driver.”

Although this is not a job that you can do from home which is the main idea of this blog, I can tell you it is a useful job for parents due the flexible hours, and this is because you work on your own schedule.

There are two different ways to work as a delivery driver with Uber: UberEats, and UberRush, which I explain in detail below.

How Can I Make Money with UberEATS and How Works?

UberEATS is a food delivery service offered by the company Uber. UberEATS works through an application where its users can find a wide range of restaurants where to order food. After an order is done, an UberEATS driver will be ready to pick it up and deliver it where it has been indicated.

UberEATS works just like any other food delivery app such as GRUBHUB, DOORDASH, EAT24, among others. The customer pays for the food and the delivery service through the app with a credit or debit card.

Now that you know what UberEATS is and how it works, you can understand that your job as an UberEATS driver would be delivering the food that the customers make through the application.

Once again, Uber EATS is a very good job opportunity for those who want to have a flexible schedule because you decide when and how many hours a day you want to work.

Oh! and guess what? Some cities do not only require cars to do the deliveries since you can use a bike or scooter to do it.

Who can be a delivery driver for UberEATS?

This is what you need besides enthusiasm:

For Deliveries by Car:

  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Have a car with insurance
  • Have a license and at least one year of driving experience.
  • Be able to lift 30 pounds.

For Deliveries by Bike or Scooter:

  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Be able to lift 30lbs.

 How Much You Could Make

Your payment for each trip will be calculated based on mileage and time you do to complete the trip plus a delivery fee which is around $5.00.

Example: (Total miles for the trip) x (mile fee) + (total minutes to delivery) x (minutes fee) + Delivery Fee.

Of the total sum of the mileage and time, Uber will keep the 25%.

UberRUSH

The second option is UberRUSH, and probably you never heard about it because unfortunately, this service is only for San Francisco, New York, and Chicago.

UberRush is another delivery service hired from the small and large businesses that want to deliver their products faster.

UberRUSH also works with an app where enterprises sign up to request a delivering service.

What you need to enroll

  • Be at least 19 years old
  • Have a driver’s license, with at least one year of driving experience.
  • Have a car with insurance.
  • Be able to lift 30 pounds

If you live in San Francisco, New York, or Chicago,  you should try UberRUSH.

Are you part of Uber but not of UberEATS? You can be part of both programs to make more money.

Let me know if you have any questions, or perhaps you want to share your own experience as a driver. I am always happy to read your comments.
