First, let me tell you how it is that I learned about mystery shopper jobs. A few years ago, I became a mom and decided to stay at home for at least the firsts years of my son. But honestly, I missed being able to spend money without feeling remorse for doing it; in all case, I was working for it, right?.
You must be asking yourself why I feel guilty about spending the money that my husband makes for our family. I do not know! I guess it is something that almost every stay-at-home-mom feels, or maybe It’s just me. 🙂

Well, I searched everywhere, and when I say everywhere, I mean it, google, social media, blogs, news, etc.
Of course, I was afraid to be scammed in my attempt to earn money from home, so I investigated each job I found interesting to me. I tried every kind of way to make sure I was safe from scammers, using google, and blogs; and that’s when I found Mystery shopper Jobs, lots of bloggers described it as a great side hustle to make money.
I fell in love with Mystery shoppers Jobs after reading I could earn money for doing what I do almost every day; like visiting the grocery store, shopping clothes, eating in my favorite restaurant, etc. A lot of people were talking about it, so I could not resist to try it, and I do not regret it; It’s easy and fun!

Thus, the mystery shoppers will visit a store or business to perform the task assigned without letting the employees know who they are and what they are doing. Isn’t it fun?
What Kind of Mystery Shopper Jobs Would You perform?
There are many types of tasks or missions to which you could be assigned but to have a clearer idea, here are some examples of the most popular mystery shopper tasks.
1.- Visit electronic stores and playing the customer role trying to buy an item. Your mission would be to assess the employee’s job with the customers.
2.- Visit a restaurant where you’ll assess both food and customer service. In this kind of mission (where you pay for a product or service), most of the time you get reimbursed for the money you spend.
3.- Visit a car dealership to assess the different departments.
4.- Evaluation of customer service from a bank.
5.- Visit a clothing store and buy an item. In this mission, you may be asked to assess the employees and the store’s facilities. This is a cool mission because you get your money back from the item, but you also keep it!

Mystery Shopper Jobs Requirements
Besides having to be a United States, Canada or Puerto Rico resident, there are other requirements that I mentioned below.
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
- Having transportation to go to the place where you’ll perform the tasks. In case you do not have a car, BestMark does not pay for any transportation used.
- Having good writing communication skills since you have to fill out a survey every time you complete a mission.
- Must be able to focus on details; this because you may not write down anything in the store during your mission, so, you have to remember everything until you get home.
- Have a computer connected to the internet to fill out the questionnaires.
When you sign up on the website, you’ll see all the missions available in your locality and for which you can apply if you want. However, before applying for your first mission, you will have to pass a test about the policies and rules for mysterious buyers. But do not be nervous, this test is very simple, and you get a manual to study.
How Much Money Could You Make?
It all depends on how often do you accept a mission and the difficulty level to perform; since some of them can take you more time than others. In my experience, the payment for a task may be between $12 and $40; once again, depending on the task.
